Ideally, morning one week, then afternoon the next week, alternating each week. Location: Fort Saskatchewan, ABReports to: Assistant Terminal ManagerDirect Reports: NoneCompensation Range: This is a salaried position offering an annual salary up to 140K with a a 10% annual retention bonus. and attractive benefits.Process Supervisor Role Summary: The Process Supervisor is a leader responsible for the operating discipline and parameters at Heartland Sulphur Terminal (HST). This role provides leadership, training, and validation of the proper operation of the process equipment and systems by process operators and support staff. The Process Supervisor serves as the key link between frontline operations and terminal leadership, ensuring that field realities, risks, and constraints are clearly communicated upward, while leadership expectations, priorities, and standards are translated into clear, workable direction for Shift Leads and Process Operators. The Process Supervisor owns the standards (operating envelopes, SOP quality, training validation, root cause analysis (RCA), corrective action closure, cross-shift consistency, etc.) of the operations system. As a member of the facility leadership team, this position actively supports and enforces HSTs HSE management system and ensures compliance across all personnel.Process Supervisor Role Primary Duties & Responsibilities include: Own the operating envelopes and limits (i.e., setpoints, normal and upset conditions, required checks, and escalations) for the process systems. Develop, simplify, and maintain SOPs and abnormal response playbooks that define best practices and operating expectations. Provide mentoring and guidance to Shift Leads in their planning and leading of operational activities to accomplish cross-shift consistency and universal application of operational standards. Provide senior leadership to operations teams during upset conditions, including direction and stop-work instructions as needed to ensure adherence to HST safety and operational standards. Translate leadership priorities, operating expectations, and site standards into clear, practical direction for Shift Leads and Process Operators to ensure understanding, alignment, and execution across all shifts. Surface gaps between field reality and management expectations early, and work with leadership and frontline teams to resolve them before they become safety, reliability, or culture issues.Audit critical activities across shifts and coach Shift Leads and Process Operators to re-standardize when drift occurs. Lead RCA for upsets and recurring failures and drive corrective actions to completion and verification. Provide guidance and education to Process Operators in the safe and proper operation of process equipment and facility infrastructure. Lead onboarding and training of new Process Operators, including development and execution of competency assessments prior to independent operations. Provide training, coaching, and performance validation for Process Operators to ensure compliance with operating procedures and HST standards.Ensure the cross-training program is executed and continuously evaluated to achieve maximum flexibility and operational reliability under a variety of personnel scenarios. Develop a robust cross-training system where necessary to ensure backup training and consistent reinforcement of competency checks. Report to and coordinate with the HSE Manager with respect to training programs, training validation, training progress, competency assessments, and documentation related to training and HSE compliance. Works closely with Operations/Terminal leadership to communicate a consistent mission, vision, and culture with Process Operators. Cooperate with the HSE Manager as needed to ensure all HST HSE policies and procedures are followed by all employees, contractors, and visitors to HST. Be available for emergency communication with the terminal outside of normal business hours for process-related issues. Enforce high standards of housekeeping and organization across all process areas to support safety, efficiency, and asset integrity. Participate in an on-call rotation to be available for emergency communication with the terminal outside of normal business hours. Support the core values of HST in all decisions, conduct, and interactions.Role Accountability & Success Measures Minimize process infrastructure downtime events and maintain operational reliability through consistent application and development of HST standards Consistent operational discipline and performance Minimize incidents and near-miss events for process operations Ensure full training and competency for Shift Leads and Process Operators Maintain accurate and current documentation for process operations Create strong alignment between frontline crews and terminal leadership through clear two-way communication, accurate escalation of field issues, and consistent translation of site expectations into field execution.To be considered for this role, the Process Supervisor must have the following qualifications: Safety tickets relevant to HST (LOTO, confined space, WHMIS, etc.) Minimum 10 years of experience in the industry and 5 years of experience leading teams of people.
