About the opportunity Dayforce is seeking aSenior Design Technologist to bridge Product Design and Engineering through rapid prototyping, scalable UI architecture, and AIpowered experience development. This role focuses on transforming early concepts into productionready solutions. You will build highfidelity prototypes, define interaction patterns, and collaborate crossfunctionally to ensure AIdriven features are usable, reliable, and aligned with enterprisegrade security and compliance expectations. The ideal candidate brings strong frontend engineering skills, deep interaction design sensibility, and handson experience prototyping modern AIpowered workflows. What youll get to do Prototyping & Product Development Build rapid prototypes ranging from interactive design explorations to coded, productionquality UI implementations. Translate ambiguous product concepts into concrete interaction models, workflows, and UI patterns. Partner with Engineering to align prototypes with scalable architecture, APIs, performance standards, and accessibility requirements. Accelerate decisionmaking through iterative testing and refinement. AIPowered Experience Design Prototype AIdriven workflows such as assistants, guided task completion, conversational interactions, and agentbased automation. Design humanintheloop patterns that maintain transparency, user control, and review before execution. Implement structured outputs, tool/function calling, and workflow orchestration within prototypes. Apply grounding and retrieval strategies to ensure generated outputs are accurate and contextual. Contribute to evaluation frameworks that measure usefulness, correctness, safety, and latency. Design Systems & FrontEnd Architecture Contribute to and extend Dayforces design system, including components, tokens, patterns, and documentation. Build reference implementations and living prototypes that support reuse across product teams. Strengthen designtodevelopment workflows, ensuring alignment between Figma assets and production components. Advocate for accessibility (WCAG compliance), responsive design, and performance best practices. Responsible AI & Governance Incorporate responsible AI principles into product interactions, including transparency, security, and privacy safeguards. Collaborate with Legal, Security, Privacy, and AI teams to ensure AI features meet enterprise compliance standards. Ensure AIpowered workflows appropriately reflect permissions and sensitive people data constraints. Mentor designers and engineers on prototyping techniques and AI UX patterns. Share best practices for AIassisted development and modern frontend tooling. Influence product and engineering decisions through technical credibility and execution excellence. Skills and experience we value 6+ years of experience in Design Technologist, UX Engineer, FrontEnd Prototyper, or similar hybrid design/engineering roles. Strong portfolio demonstrating shipped products and highfidelity prototypes. Proficiency in: Modern HTML and CSS React or comparable modern UI frameworks API integration and frontend state management Experience collaborating closely with product and engineering teams in enterprise SaaS environments. Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles. AI Experience Handson experience prototyping LLMpowered features. Familiarity with: Prompt/system instruction design and iteration Retrievalaugmented generation (RAG) concepts Structured outputs and tool/function calling Agentstyle workflow orchestration Experience evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, reliability, and user experience quality. Ability to responsibly use AIassisted coding and design tools while maintaining engineering rigor.
