Position Summary The Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) for Siksika Health Services (SHS) plays a vital role in supporting clinical functions and administration functions within the Siksika Healths Laboratory and Radiology department. This position provides direct radiology services, ensuring timely and accurate diagnostic testing for patients in alignment with SHSs commitment to delivering culturally responsive, patient-centered care, rooted in the values and traditions of the Siksika Nation. The MRT technologist works collaboratively with healthcare providers, team leaders, and community stakeholders to foster efficient healthcare delivery and promote wellness within the Siksika community. Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to: Perform radiology imaging services to support clinical diagnosis and patient care. Conduct X-ray examinations following established protocols, ensuring patient safety and image quality Maintain and operate radiology equipment, ensuring proper functionality and calibration. Facilitate patient communication, guiding individuals through radiology exams with cultural sensitivity. Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in accordance with applicable Provincial and Federal laws, and SHS policies. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure efficient clinical workflows and timely reporting of diagnostic results. Perform quality control checks and ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. Performs Other Related Duties Education & Experience Diploma in Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) Program from an accredited institution. Registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Experience in radiology services, preferably in Indigenous healthcare settings. Experience working with First Nations communities is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic procedures is an asset Other requirements Valid drivers license and reliable transportation for community outreach and mobile testing.
