Job Description

Hi Role: Lead Software Engineer Location: Canada- Remote Working hours - PST time zone from 9 till 5 pm. Skills: ClickHouse,Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm charts Contract role Job description: What youll do 1. Lead the migration of large-scale logs and distributed traces from existing Analytics Database to ClickHouse 2. Design scalable ClickHouse schemas optimized for high-ingestion telemetry workloads 3. Architect ingestion pipelines for logs and trace data 4. Translate existing queries and data models into performant ClickHouse equivalents 5. Develop and execute backfill and cutover strategies to ensure seamless migration 6. Optimize query performance, partitioning, storage layout, and retention strategies 7. Benchmark and validate performance under production-scale workloads 8. Establish monitoring, alerting, and operational best practices for ClickHouse 9. Design and support alerting workflows powered by ClickHouse queries 10. Document architecture decisions, tuning approaches, and operational runbooks 11. Partner with platform and SRE teams to ensure production readiness Responsibilities 1. Design and tune distributed ClickHouse clusters (sharding, replication, partitioning) 2. Configure and optimize MergeTree engines, TTL policies, indexing, and compression 3. Improve ingestion throughput and query latency at scale 4. Deploy and operate ClickHouse workloads in Kubernetes environments 5. Implement backup and restore strategies 6. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks 7. Ensure reliability, scalability, and maintainability of the platform 8. Support security and production-readiness reviews Basic Qualifications 1. 12+ years of experience in backend, infrastructure, or data platform engineering 2. Hands-on production experience with ClickHouse 3. Strong experience with Terraform and Helm charts 4. Experience deploying and operating stateful systems on Kubernetes 5. Strong understanding of distributed systems and high-throughput ingestion architectures 6. Experience designing schemas for large-scale analytical or telemetry workloads 7. Strong SQL skills and performance tuning expertise 8. Experience migrating data between large-scale analytical systems 9.
