Job Title: Payroll & Benefits Specialist Reports to: Director, Human Resources Anticipated salary: 75k to 95k Position Summary Agrocrop Exports Ltd. is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll & Benefits Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing and benefits administration across our operations. This role is critical in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll while delivering an excellent employee experience related to compensation, benefits and other HR administrative fields. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in ADP payroll systems, Canadian payroll legislation, and benefits administration, with the ability to support future company growth. Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration - Process full-cycle bi-weekly payroll for all Canadian employees using ADP - Ensure accuracy of payroll data including earnings, deductions, bonuses, commissions, and statutory remittances - Maintain payroll records in compliance with federal and provincial legislation - Reconcile payroll reports and prepare journal entries for Finance - Manage year-end payroll activities including T4s, ROEs, and audits - Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner Benefits Administration - Administer group benefits programs - Manage employee enrollments, changes, and terminations in benefits systems - Act as primary liaison with benefits providers and brokers - Support the design, implementation, and communication of new or enhanced benefits plans - Monitor market trends and recommend improvements to benefits offerings Compliance & Employee Support - Ensure compliance with Canadian payroll laws, CRA requirements, and employment standards - Support internal and external audits related to payroll and benefits - Partner with HR to ensure accurate employee data and seamless onboarding/offboarding processes Immigration & Work Permit Support - Coordinate work permit renewals and tracking in collaboration with HR - Maintain accurate records of employee eligibility to work in Canada - Liaise with external legal or immigration partners as needed Future Scope / Growth - Support implementation and administration of future HR programs and practices - Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and payroll/HR integrations Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration - Hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems (Workforce Now preferred) - Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and CRA requirements - PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation is a strong asset - Experience with benefits plan administration and vendor management - Exposure to multi-jurisdictional payroll is a must; exposure to US payroll is a strong asset - High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality - Strong organizational and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
