Job Description

Position Summary The Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist (CLXT) for Siksika Health Services (SHS) plays a vital role in supporting clinical functions and administration functions within the Siksika Healths Laboratory and Radiology department. This position provides direct laboratory and radiology services, ensuring timely and accurate diagnostic testing for patients in alignment with SHSs commitment to delivering culturally responsive, patient-centered care, rooted in the values and traditions of the Siksika Nation. Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to: Perform laboratory testing and radiology imaging services to support clinical diagnosis and patient care. Ensure accurate processing of specimens for routine tests, including hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and microbiology. Conduct X-ray examinations following established protocols, ensuring patient safety and image quality. Maintain and operate laboratory and radiology equipment, ensuring proper functionality and calibration. Facilitate patient communication, guiding individuals through laboratory procedures and radiology exams with cultural sensitivity. Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in accordance with applicable Provincial and Federal laws, and SHS policies. Education & Experience Diploma in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT) from an accredited institution. Registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists (ACCLXT) Experience in laboratory and radiology services, preferably in Indigenous healthcare settings. Experience working with First Nations communities is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic procedures is an asset. Other Requirements Valid drivers license and reliable transportation for community outreach and mobile testing. Criminal record clearance. Awareness of Indigenous languages and cultures (an asset).
