Payroll Administrator (Contract: 6m with possibility of extension) Location: Hybrid (4 days onsite MondayThursday, WFH Fridays) Hours: MondayFriday, 9:00 AM5:00 PM Contract: 6 months with potential for extension Annual Salary: $60,000 Start: ASAP About the Role Our client, a well-established and growing organization, is seeking a Payroll Administrator to support their payroll team during a period of rapid expansion and recent acquisitions. This contract role will focus on supporting semi-monthly payroll processing across multiple provinces, with immediate responsibility for a newly acquired entitys payroll. Reporting into the Payroll Manager, youll play a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing while acting as a first point of contact for payroll-related inquiries. Key Responsibilities - Process semi-monthly payroll for approximately 250 salaried, non-union employees - Manage payroll for a single legal employer with multiple CRA accounts - Support the transition and ongoing processing for a new third-party payroll (July acquisition) - Handle payroll-related payables and remittances, including WSIB - Prepare and issue ROEs and employee pay statements - Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues promptly - Coordinate bonus payments when required - Partner with ADP on statutory remittances (CPP, EI, etc.) - Support year-end activities (T4s) if contract extends - Ensure payroll compliance across Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia Required Qualifications - 12+ years of hands-on payroll experience - ADP Workforce Now (WFN) experience is mandatory - Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, formulas, pivot tables) - Strong understanding of payroll timelines and compliance requirements - Exceptional attention to detail in a time-sensitive environment Soft Skills & Attributes - Quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven role - Able to work independently - Strong communicator with a service-oriented mindset - Organized, reliable, and highly detail-oriented Why Youll Want This Role - Opportunity to support complex, multi-provincial payroll in a growing organization - Exposure to ongoing acquisitions and payroll integrations - Collaborative and knowledgeable payroll team - Strong company culture with a supportive manager and clear expectations - Excellent learning and growth opportunity for payroll professionals AI may be used to screen, assess or select applicants for the position.
