Senior Technical Animator (Cosmetics) | North America | Europe | Fully Remote1 month ago Be among the first 25 applicantsGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.What we are looking for:As a Senior Technical Animator, you will be responsible for breathing life into cosmetics for characters and props, leveraging rigging, runtime physics simulations, and procedural animation techniques in Unreal Engine. Working closely with the animation and design teams, you will help develop best practices to create amazing characters that scale efficiently across various platforms.Responsibilities:Create dynamic character rigs and develop processes and pipelines to improve efficiencyCollaborate with teams to ensure assets meet creative and technical standardsImplement animation blueprints, simulation systems, and secondary motion systems for characters and propsTroubleshoot and debug animation issues with the animation and tech art teamsOptimize assets for performance across multiple platformsDocument techniques and workflows; mentor team membersQualifications:Expertise in rigging and animation tools such as MayaExtensive experience with Unreal Engine's animation and rigging systems (RigidBodies, Cloth, Anim Nodes, Control Rig, etc.)Knowledge of creating scalable runtime characters and propsProficiency in troubleshooting animation systemsAbility to research and develop new techniquesStrong communication and leadership skillsPython scripting experience is a plusExperience with cross-platform game developmentSelf-motivated with a growth mindset and ability to work independentlyBenefits:Escape Velocity offers excellent benefits, including:Generous PTOStudio closure during summer and winter holidaysPrivate Medical & Dental HealthcarePrivate Mental Health schemeHealth & Wellbeing allowanceDiscretionary bonusTop-range tech setupAbout Escape Velocity:We are a passionate team of developers working on a unique project with a committed publisher.
