JLP Services Inc. is currently seeking a Junior Geotechnical Coordinator. JLP provides Geotechnical Services including investigation, materials testing & inspection, instrumentation & monitoring, shoring, excavation & monitoring, and foundation recommendations. This role requires minimum 24 years of local southwestern Ontario experience. Responsibilities Conduct field investigations, including borehole layout, utility clearances, supervision of drill rigs/excavators, logging boreholes & test pits, and surveying. Perform construction site reconnaissance, observations, and inspections (footing, subgrade, retaining wall). Review soil & rock samples, coordinate geotechnical lab testing, and compile test results and borehole logs. Analyze and model slope stability, settlement, foundation design, soil retaining structures, and other geotechnical challenges. Prepare Geotechnical Investigation Reports, Technical Memos, Scope of Work, Client Communication, and business development documentation. Train and mentor junior employees. Qualifications CCIL Certifications. Bachelors Degree in Geotechnical (Civil or Geological) Engineering (Masters degree is an asset). 24 years of local southwestern Ontario field experience. Exceptional interpersonal, organizational & critical thinking skills. Excellent oral & written communication skills, including technical writing. Understanding of materials testing & inspection, road reconstruction, rebar inspection, and general construction practices.
