What is the Opportunity? The Steam Generator Replacement Team (SGRT) project is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon and Framatome, located in Kincardine, Ontario. SGRT is a part of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) project and includes the removal of the steam generators and the installation of replacement steam generators with related plant modifications. This project is part of Bruce Powers Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Powers CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064. In addition to the existing contracts for Unit3 and Unit4, SGRT has been awarded contracts for Unit5, 7, and 8 for steam generator replacements as part of the Bruce Major Component Replacement project. Under the general direction of the Mechanical Superintendent, the Pipefitter General Foreperson will assist in the supervision, coordination, and scheduling of construction activities for their dedicated scope. What You''ll Do Here: Maintain excellent relationships with client, engineers, consultants, subcontractors and public. Ensure that all work is conducted in a safe manner in compliance with safety, quality and human performance policies. Utilize project master schedule to create detailed lookahead schedules for forecasting and planning. Assist in developing recovery strategies when project schedule or budget are in jeopardy. Plan and approve the work of own forces and subcontractors on the project including determining methods of construction, manpower levels, materials, tools & equipment, rentals and work schedules. Assume responsibility for the efficient use of materials and equipment and contractual performance of the project. Ensure trades personnel complete all necessary training in areas of safety, quality assurance, technical qualifications, equipment operation and owner specified requirements. Ensure project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications, Field Work Packages (FWPs), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and project schedule and budget. Interface with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, other contractors, etc. as required. Ensure the work is carried out in accordance with QA Programs and project quality guidelines. Maintain appropriate field documentation including safety records, daily progress reports, training records, T&E and rental records, manpower reports, owner support requests, FWP documents, etc. Participate in basic layout, preparation of work instructions, field engineering activities, etc. Oversee and directly support work during execution phase, including monitoring for performance, provision of guidance to the field team, reporting to line management, leading problemsolving efforts and development of adverse condition recovery plans. Ensure project is constructed in compliance with drawings, specifications/codes and CITPs. Identify and support CITP and/or DCN revisions as necessary to support field work. Manage and maintain OPEX in the project database for future use. Attend and participate in the Plan of the Day and other meetings as required. Coordinate Foreperson and execution crew in the execution of their assigned duties. Coordinate across all functions of the project as required to achieve task(s) goals. Provide leadership to Field supervisors, Coordinators and respective Craft Labor. Other duties as required. What You Bring to the Team: Minimum 510years construction supervision experience. Must possess Pipefitter Certification of Qualification or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience. Ability to successfully coordinate a construction project. Knowledge of all aspects of construction such as technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling and safety requirements. Good communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Basic presentation skills. Nuclear experience an asset, including vault work. Must be able to obtain unescorted access to the Nuclear Power Plant. Background check process includes a full security check and clearance process with reference checks; those with a valid Bruce Power security clearance are strongly preferred. Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
