Brooks Emergency Department is a 10bed unit with 24/7 physician support, serving the diverse population of Brooks and surrounding area. Using the principles of patient and familycentred care, you will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team and client to address their needs. Brooks is one of the fastest growing communities in Alberta with a multicultural flavor. Residents enjoy a wide range of indoor and outdoor recreational activities including camping, boating, fishing, sailing, kayaking, water sports, ice fishing and skating in winter. This position qualifies for the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Program, which reimburses $4,000 per year (up to a maximum of 5 years) for working in the rural Brooks setting. Description As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while ensuring their safety and wellbeing. In your role you will utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problemsolving and decision making, and teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and familycentred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. Provisional Permit holders will be paid $39.58 $54.16 per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
