Recreation Manager Full Time Temporary (12-18 months) Location: Hamilton, ON Start Date: ASAP Availability: periodic events on evenings and weekends. Weekend rotational basis as Manager on Duty. Qualifications Recreation/Activation Coordinator Gerontology Diploma/Degree (preferred) Class ''G'' driver''s license CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain Dementia training an asset Ability to conduct seated fitness classes Smart Serve Creative, sociable and outgoing with a positive attitude Experience in retirement living preferred Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Patience, tolerance and politeness when responding to residents and visitors to the residence Ability to speak, read and write English Responsibilities Work closely with the Sales Team to coordinate Special Events and Functions Conduct Activity Assessments Think outside the box and be creative and innovative Passionate about working with seniors Enthusiastic, selfmotivated and takes initiative Team player Organized with excellent time management skills Good oral and written communication Patient and good listener Develop and implement a monthly activity calendar offering a variety of programs to meet residents physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs Carry out daily, handson activities in a courteous, compassionate and enthusiastic manner promoting a feeling of wellbeing and security in residents Implement ageappropriate activities for residents in a manner appropriate for residents abilities and which take dignity issues & physical limitations into consideration Maintain accurate and complete records of care delivered Present a positive image of the residence to the public Provide administrative support as required Lev Senior Living is committed to accommodating applicants with disabilities up to the point of undue hardship during the recruitment, assessment and selection process.
