Job Description

Overview This interview position provides extensive customs brokerage services in accordance with Canada Customs and other government department regulations and legislation pertaining to more than sixty acts of legislation relating to international trade. Requirements Educational Requirements Postsecondary education (community college diploma or equivalent) Professional accreditation / certification Canadian Customs Specialist (CCS) or Canadian Customs and Border Security (CSCB) qualified professional designation Minimum Experience 2 years current customs brokerage experience OR 2 years current rating and international experience Specific Mandatory Experience Incumbents must maintain their CCS designation and achieve annual recurrency points. Technical Skill Requirements Excellent mathematical skills Knowledge of FedEx operations Knowledge of international customs documentation and regulations In depth knowledge of customs, agriculture, food and drug, tariff and valuation laws and other government department laws and policies Demonstrated knowledge of different agency clearance requirements and release processes Excel basic Minimum of 25 wpm on data entry alphanumeric testing (preferred) Physical requirement: ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment if positioned at YQG, YOW, YEG, YWG, YYC, YMX ports. Preferred Qualifications CCS designation required. Pay and Additional Details Minimum start rate: $25.51/hr. Hybrid work model; must be available to work at the assigned station when required. Locations include Calgary and Winnipeg.
