Job Description

General Summary To perform duties relevant to the processing of shipments in accordance with Canadian Customs and other government departments regulations and legislation. To provide accurate information and assistance to customers requiring international shipment information. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities High school diploma/educational equivalent. Canadian Customs Specialist or CSCB qualified. One (1) year (fulltime) experience required (FedEx preferred) with basic knowledge of Canadian Customs Regulations related to international operations. Good interpersonal and communication skills. PC skills basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Must achieve a minimum of 25 wpm on data entry alpha numeric testing. Strong mathematical and computer aptitude required. Ability to successfully complete Introduction to Clearance within first (3) months. Good understanding of FedEx products, features of service, general options. GRADE: 83. Educational Requirements Post Secondary: Community College Diploma/Equivalent. Professional accreditation/certification: Canadian Customs Specialist or CSCB qualified. Other Specific Mandatory Experience Requirements Incumbents must maintain their CCS designation when in this position. Must achieve annual recurrency points. Must have the ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs with the appropriate equipment if position is located at the following ports: YQG, YOW, YEG, YWG, YYC, YMX. In the province of Quebec, must be bilingual (English and French). Technical Skill Requirements Good mathematical and computer aptitude required. Knowledge of customs rules and regulations. Knowledge of clearance systems preferred. Basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Minimum of 25 wpm on data entry alpha numeric testing preferred. Pay Additional Details: CCS designation required- onsite position.
