Carmacks, in partnership with Peters Bros., is looking to hire a Project Coordinator for Highway North (including Alaska highway) & East Pine Quarry. What is the role? Reporting to the Dawson Creek General Manager, Highways Division, this position supports the Project Management team in building roads through primarily paving works. The individual works closely with the field Superintendent and Project Manager, providing assistance as required. The role is based in Dawson Creek, split 50% in the office and 50% on site during the production season. Duties and responsibilities Track and reconcile materials supplied and delivered. Manage and track truck haul tickets and summarize using spreadsheets. Maintain daily and weekly inventory balances for pits, stockpiles, transfers, and job consumption. Reconcile scale tickets, haul sheets, and production logs; investigate discrepancies proactively. Coordinate with foremen, pit managers, and trucking to align physical counts with system balances. Prepare monthend inventory rollforwards and variance explanations for Finance. Track material quality documentation (QC results, gradations) aligned to usage and pay items. Assist Accounts Payable with invoicing. Ensure timely accurate communication of all information and completion of all required documentation. Help the Project Manager prepare progress reports and invoices for work completed. Assist in the estimating process by evaluating bid specifications and drawings to ensure all requirements are addressed. Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, identifying qualified subcontractors, and negotiating price; follow up to ensure bids are received. Review projects, analyzing and documenting estimated vs. actual costs and the overall job to use this data for future estimating. Review contracts concerning insurance and bonding; order bonding. Identify and implement efficiencies, process improvements and ways to save money. Use the company ERP: SAP. What do we value? Entry level requires a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a Bachelors degree or relevant industry experience. Strong understanding of construction methods, contracts, and project coordination processes. Strong knowledge of civil construction practices, including grading, paving, and utilities. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Minimum Class 5 Drivers license with a clean abstract. Preferred Experience working with contractors on municipal or highway projects. Knowledge of ERP: SAP. Familiarity with local regulations and standards (e.g., provincial specifications). Experience with quantity tracking and cost control systems. Working Conditions Combination of office and field work environments. Travel to project sites may be required. Living out allowance (LOA) is provided when working remote. Ability to work in a fastpaced construction environment with changing priorities. Salary range Salary range is between $70,000-$95,000/yr, depending on qualifications and experiences.
