And, thatu2019s something weu2019re truly proud of. **_Work That Matters, People Who Care._** **Job Description** **Job Summary:** The Laundry Room Attendant is responsible for the efficient, hygienic, and timely processing of personal laundry, PPE, and camp linens in a remote lodge environment. This includes sorting, washing, drying, folding, and properly tracking all laundry while maintaining hygiene, safety, and cross-contamination prevention protocols. The Laundry Attendant works closely with the housekeeping team to support the daily operations of the lodge. _This position requires fly-in/fly-out travel from Edmonton, Alberta or Yellowknife, Northwest Territories to the project site in Nunavut, with potential for weather-related delays or logistical challenges. Employees are responsible for arranging their own transportation to the designated point of dispatch._ **Key Responsibilities:** Collect, count, weigh, and log all personal laundry using tracking sheets/ program. Assist housekeepers and guests with personal laundry bag drop-off and pick-up. Secure small personal laundry bags with zip ties; combine multiple small bags in large machines to save water and time. Pick up personal laundry during scheduled night shift times (e.g., 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm). Ensure timely processing: all personal laundry washed by 12:30u20131:00 pm, dried by 4:00 pm. Prioritize certain clients, ensuring return of laundry before required times (e.g., 2:00 pm). Keep washers and dryers running continuously; avoid idle machines. Run additional spin cycles on small stacking washers to ensure proper drying. Clean lint traps in small dryers after every load; clean lint traps in large dryers twice daily (6:00 am and 6:00 pm) and sign off on logs. Use designated machines for PPE items only (coveralls, jackets); track and return cleaned PPE to mine dry or assigned location. To launder clothing, other washable materials, and use only the instructed washers and dryers for them. Load and unload washers/dryers and support other team members with high-volume laundry tasks. Maintain a clean and organized laundry room at all times. Follow all safety, WHMIS, and PPE procedures while handling laundry, chemicals, and soiled linens. Report maintenance issues, equipment failures, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly. Support the broader housekeeping and janitorial team when required. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Camp Manager. **Physical Demands:** Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. Stand, walk, bend, and climb stairs for extended periods. Work in both indoor and outdoor environments under various weather conditions, accessing cabins, outbuildings, or utility entrances. Perform repetitive tasks and safely handle laundering, cleaning equipment and materials. Must be comfortable working 12-hour shifts in a repetitive, fast-paced environment. Navigate fast-paced environments, especially during service peaks. **Working Conditions:** Employees are responsible for arranging their transportation to the designated point of dispatch (typically Edmonton, Alberta). Fly-in/fly-out position based in a remote Arctic camp, with potential for weather-related travel delays. Shared accommodations and meals are provided while on site. Extended periods away from home; rotational schedule required. Fast-paced food service environment requiring physical stamina and long hours. Must comply with all safety and sanitation standards established by the client and company. **Qualifications** **WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?** **Required Qualifications:** Prior experience in commercial laundry, housekeeping, or camp operations is an asset. WHMIS certification and safety training preferred (or willingness to obtain). Basic familiarity with industrial washers and dryers. u2022 Ability to accurately track and record laundry volumes. Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. Must be able to successfully pass a Criminal Background Check **Other Skills and Competencies:** Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision. Understanding of hygiene and infection control principles. Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail. Physically fit, reliable, and committed to safety practices. Ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff, guests, and Indigenous community members. Be #1 on day 1 by joining an industry leader **Work schedule and remuneration:** Laundry Attendants work on a rotational schedule of 3 weeks on/ 3 weeks off. Site locations are in remote settings, requiring either air travel to site, or via ground on our shuttle. You may be required to work nights, weekdays, weekends, and general holidays.
