Be part of our journey to shape the future of medical imaging through innovation, research, education, and excellence in patient care.DutiesPerforms nuclear medicine procedure and quality assurance for PET as outlined in the protocol/procedure manuals to aid in patient diagnosis, intervention and/or treatmentEnsures MRI Safety Standards of Practice are followed at all timesOperates, troubleshoots and ensures safe functioning of medical imaging and ancillary equipmentPrepare written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test resultsAttend PET-MR & Research meetings as requiredAssume the role and responsibility as the Radiation Safety Designate such as respond to radiation incident, and assist with minor or major spills in the areaAttend quarterly RNRSC meetingAssist in the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications and data processingResponsible for teaching, training, educational research, safety and quality improvement programs/activitiesMaintain up-to-date knowledge of and utilize the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) to review, manipulate and archive digital medical imagesPerform other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient careUnderstand and follow Hospital and departmental Research policies and procedures to improve technical qualityQualificationsCertification in Nuclear Medicine from a recognized academic institutionCurrent registration with the CMRITO, including annual continuing education requirementsCompletion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certificationCompletion of the clinical component of an accredited medical imaging academic program or equivalent education as assessed by CAMRT and CMRITOMinimum of three years of recent clinical experience in Nuclear MedicineCompetence in operating PET diagnostic equipment, an assetIndependent decision-making abilitiesAbility to work accurately and efficiently under stressful conditionsExcellent problem-solving and recognition skillsPractical time management skills, with the ability to organize work and set prioritiesProficiency in computer skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent attendance and availability for evenings and occasional weekendsSensitivity towards patients in challenging situationsStrong inter-professional and collaborative approach to practiceGood judgment to ensure work is performed in the best interest and safety of patients and the teamAbility to work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-patient volume settingAdditional InformationWhy join UHN?In addition to working alongside some of the most talented and inspiring healthcare professionals in the world, UHN offers a wide range of benefits, programs and perks.
