Another Mason Group exclusive! We have partnered with our public sector client to help them find a CPA for a Controller / Senior Manager contract opportunity. Centrally located along the Broadway corridor, this lucrative contract should end just in time for snow-birding season. Reporting to the Senior Finance Director you will have a lot of support to ramp up quickly but they do require an individual familiar with PSAS, either from industry (preferred) or going back to your recent public practice days. A minimum of 5+ years of post-designation experience is required for the role, and it may appeal nicely to recently retired individuals who would like to keep busy for a few months. Leading a large team of supervisors managing the transactional accounting teams, your primary focus will the accounting and financial reporting for the entity, as well as preparing and assisting with the year end auditor/auditors. Capital Project accounting knowledge would be helpful as well. We need to fill this role quickly so please apply or reach out if you are interested. Requirements - A Canadian CPA designation is mandatory, preferably with 5+ years of progressive post designation experience. - Experience as a Controller or Manager/Senior Manager is preferred, with a solid understanding PSAS required. - Capital Project Accounting experience is a differentiator. - Experience with a large ERP platform. - Meticulous attention to detail and an obsession with producing error-free work. - Proactive problem solver with strong critical thinking skills, adept at multi-tasking. - Strong written and verbal English communication skills. - Committed to the highest levels of integrity, ethics, and professionalism. - Strong people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
