Position: Python Engineer Duration: 12 month assignment (contract) Location: Toronto, ON Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement B2B (Incorporated Entities Only) About the Engagement Akkodis is seeking a Python Engineer for a contract position with a client in Toronto, ON. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Python development, SQL database management, and building scalable enterprise applications. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality solutions. Services to be Provided Design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications and backend systems Write optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and database scripts Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, and automation solutions Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing applications for performance and scalability Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement solutions Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to best coding practices Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of production systems Create technical documentation for developed solutions Nice to Have (Desired Experience): Experience with frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Knowledge of ETL pipelines and data processing workflows Experience with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, or CI/CD pipelines Familiarity with version control tools such as Git Experience with NoSQL databases is a plus Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Must be able to work in this country without sponsorship Must be willing to learn quickly, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment Expertise Required (Top 3 Required Skills): 10+ years of experience in Python development Strong hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases Experience building scalable enterprise applications and APIs Preferred Skills: Experience in performance tuning, database optimization, and system integrations Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Important This is a business-to-business engagement.
