Role: Community Outreach and Project Assistant RoleOrganization: Volunteer CalgaryEmployment Type: Full-time (35 hours) for June, July and August and 15 hours/week from September to December.Compensation: $22/hourContract Duration: June 1 December 15, 2026Reports To: Director of Programs and StrategyRole OverviewThe Outreach & Project Coordinator supports Volunteer Calgarys mission by strengthening relationships with member organizations while also supporting the implementation of a key pilot initiative in partnership with Capacity Canada, the Womens Not-for-Profit Mentorship Network and the Belonging and Culture Change Framework.This role plays a central part in delivering a high-quality member experience through responsive support, onboarding, and practical guidanceparticularly helping organizations effectively access, understand, and use Volunteer Calgarys programs and services. This work is especially important as organizations increasingly struggle to engage volunteers. While many individuals are eager to contribute, organizations need targeted support to connect with them effectively and create meaningful, inclusive opportunities.The role provides logistical, operational, and communications support to ensure the successful delivery of the pilot programs that advance equity and leadership in the nonprofit sector.Through outreach and project coordination, this role helps build confidence across the sector while contributing to Volunteer Calgarys regional and national impact.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesMember Support & Digital Platform EngagementProvide responsive, practical support to members and partners to help them access, navigate, and effectively use Volunteer Calgarys digital platform and toolsSupport onboarding by guiding new members through platform features, workflows, and volunteer engagement best practicesRespond to inquiries with a strong customer-service orientationIdentify recurring challenges and share insights internally to support platform and service improvementsAssist in developing and updating user resources (guides, FAQs, tutorials) to improve accessibility and usabilityOutreach, Engagement & RelationshipsSupport outreach initiatives to build awareness of Volunteer Calgarys programs and servicesAssist in recruitment and engagement of participants for pilot programs, including nonprofit women leaders from underrepresented communitiesBuild and maintain relationships with community organizations and regional partnersSupport targeted outreach campaigns and stakeholder engagement effortsFoster inclusive, welcoming member and participant communitiesProject & Program ImplementationSupport implementation of the Womens Not-for-Profit Mentorship Network and Belonging and Culture Change Framework pilotsAssist in managing and maintaining digital platforms used for mentorship and program deliveryProvide technical and logistical support for program participantsCoordinate workshops, meetings, and events, including speaker and facilitator supportCollaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project deliveryCommunications & AdvocacySupport outreach and awareness efforts to promote programs and servicesContribute to storytelling by gathering member and participant experiencesDocumentation, Reporting & EvaluationAssist in collecting, tracking, and analyzing program and member dataGather feedback through surveys and check-ins and share insights with the teamMaintain organized project files, records, and documentationSystems & Internal CollaborationCollaborate across teams to ensure coordinated member and participant supportHelp identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and overall user experienceExperience, Skills & QualificationsEducationBachelors degree in a relevant field (completed or in progress)SkillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and coordination abilitiesResearch, analytical, and problem-solving skillsComfortable working with digital platforms and learning new toolsPersonal AttributesDetail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvementCollaborative and able to work effectively with diverse groupsSelf-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal oversightPassionate about equity, diversity, and inclusion in the nonprofit sectorCommitted to strengthening volunteerism and community impactTo apply please submit your resume to or apply through LinkedIn.
