Location Address: Downtown Toronto hybrid - 2 days in-office (will increase to 4 days in future)Contract Duration: 6 monthsPossibility of extension and conversion to FTENumber of Positions: 1Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week (Possible OT)Reason: additional supportProject: IFRS 17 Next Phase: Process OptimizationTypical Day in Role: Develop, track and manage project budget, project plans, timelines and scope Manage project resources including procuring project staff, developing, motivating, coaching and advising Partner closely with other members of functional teams to define business requirements Lead teams of developers in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs Define test plans and ensure that products are defect free before User Acceptance Testing Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures Prepare and present cost-benefit analyses Ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized Make presentations to steering committees or project sponsors Communicating with project team and vendors-Improve the end-to-end financial reporting process for Global Insurance addressing constrained resources and complex data handoffs because of the IFRS17 accounting standards implemented in 2023.Must have skills:1. 10+ years of experience as an IT Project / Program Manager, with some experience preferably in a large FI2. Knowledge of IFRS173. knowledge of accounting principles4. Proficiency with MS Suite (Visio, Project, Excel)5. 5+ years of experience working in an Agile/Waterfall environmentNice to have: Regulatory experience Risk Remediation experience Recent Experience with Top 5 Banks is an asset, specifically with the client (Scotiabank) PMP certificationBest VS. Average Candidate:The ideal candidate will be an experienced IT Project/ Program manager with previous Scotia experience working with corporate finance.
