You'll build the team, own the architecture, and help a challenger brand reinvent an entire industry.The company is doing for online gambling what Wealthsimple did for Canadian banking. They own the full platform stack (no white-label shortcuts), they've grown from a handful of engineers to ~50, and they're scaling hard. Latency isn't a nice-to-have here it directly shapes the product. They're actively exploring Go and Rust to push performance further.This is a hands-on platform leadership role. You'll set strategy, still commit code, and mentor a small distributed team. The work sits at the intersection of raw infrastructure performance and developer experience, making the platform faster for users and frictionless for the engineers building on top of it.What the role actually involves:Owning platform architecture decisions that affect scale and resilience across marketsBuilding out the infrastructure to support a globally distributed system, with latency and regional reliability as first-class concernsCreating golden paths so product engineers can ship quickly, safely, and consistently without reinventing the wheelRaising the bar on developer experience faster builds, better local dev, cleaner deploys, less friction between idea and productionShipping improvements to deployment pipelines, observability, and internal toolingBuilding the Canadian platform capability from scratchHiring and mentoring a small team who'll own their workWriting code.
