Role: Heavy Equipment TechnicianLocation: Mississauga, ONJob Type: Full-TimeHours: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM (Monday to Friday) + overtime as requiredJob Summary:Amaco Construction Equipment is seeking a skilled and self-motivated Heavy Equipment Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty construction and municipal equipmentboth in-shop and in the field when needed. This role demands strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic expertise, a commitment to safety, and excellent communication skills.Compensation:$40$47 an hour (starting salary and have flexibility depending on your background/experience)Overtime opportunities availableBenefits:Comprehensive health and dental benefitsContinuous technical training on equipment brands (CAN/US)Opportunities for professional development and certificationSafety-first work environment with room for career growthJob Responsibilities:Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on heavy equipmentPerform scheduled maintenance and inspections, especially on rental unitsAssist with field service calls and conduct on-road repairs as requiredUse diagnostic tools to troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure successful post-repair testingComplete daily service reports, warranty paperwork, and documentation accuratelyPerform welding repairs as neededComply with all safety procedures and report any unsafe work conditions or incidentsStay current with technical advancements through regular training sessionsTravel as required and be able to work independently in remote or fast-paced environmentsQualifications:Valid 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician License (required) OR Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician License (required) OR Completion of all required schooling and currently eligible to write the certification exam (required)Minimum 1 year of experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment (for licensed technicians)Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic diagnostic skillsKnowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical componentsAbility to read and interpret service manuals and schematicsValid drivers license with a clean abstract; D/Z license is an assetPhysically capable of lifting up to 80 lbsProficiency with computer-based diagnostics and service documentationExcellent communication, organizational, and customer service skillsSafety-focused, dependable, and self-drivenPreferred: Experience with crusher/screening equipmentAssets: Overhead crane certification, forklift, working at heights, and First Aid certificationThe role is an actual open positionAmaco represents a specialized group of manufacturers serving the municipal, road building, paving, aggregate, and industrial sectors.
