We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced UX Designer to join a fast-paced, niche design team. In this role, you will delve into the complex world of commercial and business banking, designing for large-scale transactions and high-value clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer who is eager to learn the nuances of a specialized industry while working on multiple project-based initiatives.This is a 6-month contract with a strong possibility of extension up to one year or potential conversion to a permanent role based on performance. The position requires a hybrid work arrangement, currently requiring 3 days per week (increasing to 4 days in September) at our office in downtown Toronto.ResponsibilitiesEnd-to-End Design: Conceptualize, design, and plan future-state and near-term cross-channel experiences through the creation of sketches, wireframes, specifications, prototypes, scenarios, and storyboards.User Advocacy: Act as a steadfast advocate for the user throughout the entire project lifecycle, ensuring all designs are rooted in user-centric problem-solving.Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to ensure design intent is maintained during implementation and collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate feedback constructively.Communication: Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, detailed designs, and design rationales to a diverse audience, spending approximately 20-30% of your week in collaborative meetings.Asset Transformation: Utilize AI-driven tools to generate or transform design assets efficiently.Process Management: Prioritize tasks within a multi-task environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and a high standard of deliverable quality.RequirementsMust-Have Skills and Qualifications:Experience: 3-5 years of overall design experience with a visually compelling portfolio that demonstrates a keen eye for detail.Education: A degree in design or a design-related discipline (e.g., Industrial Design, User-Centred Design, Design Strategy, Human-Computer Interaction, or Human Factors).Technical Proficiency: Advanced expertise in Figma and experience using AI-driven tools for asset generation.Soft Skills: A 'no ego' approach with high flexibility and adaptability; strong organizational, logic, and analytical skills.Collaboration: Proven ability to manage stakeholders and work effectively within a team of 5-7 members.Nice-to-Have Skills and Qualifications:Previous experience within the Financial Services (FI) industry.Experience participating in observational studies, usability testing, and other forms of customer research.Call to ActionIf you are a results-oriented UX professional ready to tackle complex design challenges in a dynamic environment, we want to hear from you!
