Our Transmission group is currently looking to add a Project Manager to our growing team, based in Winnipeg, MB.Reporting to the Vice President, Transmission Operations, we are seeking an experienced leader who has knowledge and experience in planning, executing, and delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves managing crossfunctional teams, coordinating with external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.This position requires up to 75% onsite presence, including the possibility of extended shifts at various sites nationwide.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement project strategies and objectives in alignment with the company's goalsCollaborate with crossfunctional teams to develop and execute projectsProvide guidance, mentorship, and performance management to project team membersOversee and manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budgetDevelop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs, quality, and lead timesNegotiate contracts with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and conditionsManage procurement processes and maintain strong vendor relationshipsMonitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and quality standardsResolve any constructionrelated issues and make timely decisions to keep projects on trackReport regularly on project financial performance to senior managementBuild and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and partnersEnsure effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholdersQualificationsPostSecondary education in a related field10 years of proven experience leading Transmission projectsExperience with high voltage Transmission projects up to 500kvDemonstrated process standardization / improvement experienceExperience in Business DevelopmentPreferred Skills / QualificationsProject Management Professional (PMP) certificationExperience in multiple regulatory jurisdictions across CanadaWe offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that incorporates a complete range of employee benefits, including an RRSP matching program, to ensure you have the tools necessary to manage, maintain, and improve your health and wellbeing.About our BusinessValard Construction is Canadas premier utility contractor providing comprehensive EPC+ (engineering, procurement, construction) and maintenance services to utilities, independent power producers, mining, oil and gas industries and rural electric associations.
