Our current operations span Canada and the United States, and we take a proactive approach to identifying and evaluating acquisition opportunities.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, in-office summer role located in Toronto, Canada, for a Mergers & Acquisitions Summer Analyst.The M&A Summer Analyst will support the Opus team across the investment process, with a particular focus on sourcing new acquisition opportunities, researching markets and industries, analyzing potential targets, and assisting with due diligence. The role will involve helping build potential acquisition target lists, reviewing company information, preparing financial analysis, supporting valuation work, and contributing to internal presentations and reports.The analyst will also support our portfolio companies as they come into the fold, assisting with onboarding, integration, data gathering, reporting, and other strategic initiatives alongside the Opus team and management partners.This is a hands-on support role in an entrepreneurial environment, offering exposure to sourcing, diligence, deal execution, and portfolio company support.QualificationsStrong analytical skills and comfort working with data, financial statements, and business informationSolid foundation of knowledge in finance, valuation, accounting, and financial modellingInterest in economics, accounting, business diligence, and strategyExcellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreamsStrong communication and collaboration skillsProficiency with spreadsheets and financial analysis toolsBachelors degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field, either in progress or completedPrior exposure to private equity, investment banking, entrepreneurship, or strategy consulting is a strong asset
