With an office located in the south of Calgary and one in the downtown core, we are conveniently located to serve our diverse clients across a broad range of legal services.Law Clerk, Commercial Real Estate & Banking and FinanceWe are seeking a detailoriented Law Clerk, Commercial Real Estate & Banking and Finance to join our Real Estate team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive support to lawyers on a wide range of commercial real estate and banking and finance transactions, from file opening through to closing.The ideal candidate brings strong drafting skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced practice environment. You will regularly liaise with clients, lenders, municipalities, and other professional contacts to ensure transactions proceed efficiently and in compliance with all applicable laws and procedures.RESPONSIBILITIESDraft and manage the full lifecycle of legal and banking documentation for commercial purchase, sale, and refinance transactions, from file opening to closing Review purchase and sale agreements, financing documents, leases, and Land Titles documentation Draft security documents for commercial lending transactions Conduct Personal Property Registry (PPR) registrations Provide support for commercial property acquisitions and dispositions, condominium developments, financing transactions, and land development matters Complete title and offtitle due diligence searches on commercial properties and review search reports Support commercial lending transactions, including coordination with lenders and borrowers Assist with residential real estate matters, as required Draft statutory rightsofway, covenants, easements, and related agreements Liaise with municipalities and strata corporations Prepare contracts and closing documentation Organize, maintain, and manage client files in accordance with firm standards Perform other related duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSLegal Assistant Diploma from a recognized postsecondary institution or combination of relevant education and experienceMinimum eight years of experience with commercial real estate and banking and finance PPR Certification requiredAbility to communicate in a professional manner with clients and lawyersExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deal directly with clientsExcellent attention to detail, highly organized and proactiveHighly proficient in MS Office and ability to learn new software and technology quicklyPerforms well under pressure with tight deadlines and completes repetitive tasks with accuracyHOW TO APPLYIf this sounds like a good fit, then consider joining us by applying by email to: Jennifer Carter-Squire Director, Human Resources McLeod Law LLP We thank all applicants for their interest in McLeod Law; however, only chosen applicants will be contacted.
