Youll report directly to our current HR partner and play an active role in improving the small details of the HR function at DESIGNME.If you are a great communicator, enjoy checking things off a list, and want experience in a fast-growing brand - this is meaningful work that will look great on your growing rsum.What will your day-to-day look like?Here's what your 4 months will look like:Recruitment CoordinationReview, update, and edit job postings and keep our ATS (LinkedIn, Greenhouse, etc.) up to date.Review incoming applications and schedule initial screenings to identify qualified candidates.Coordinate interview scheduling between candidates and hiring managers, and support the People Ops specialist in follow-up communications.Support in a smooth, candidate-friendly process that reflects DESIGNME's brand and values while being a second set of eyes for system improvements.Onboarding & OffboardingSupport the logistics of onboarding: reviewing contracts, first-day prep, and welcome coordination, with the coaching of the People Ops specialist.Support offboarding processes, particularly in equipment returns.HR Administration & ComplianceFollow up for signatures on employment contracts, amendments, and other HR documentation after the process is executed by the People Ops specialist.Support payroll preparation by ensuring vacation data is current, flagging any need-for-review to the appropriate stakeholders.Collaborate with the direct manager on monthly People's Newsletters.Practice applying employment labour standards and the ever-changing workplace legal matters by flagging a concise summary of Canadian legal/HR news to the People Ops specialist.People Data & ReportingUpdate and maintain HR data across internal systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency.Learn how to collaborate with IT.Culture & People ProgramsAssist in internal events, team activities, and volunteer initiatives that bring our culture to life. Act as an emergency point of contact for HR/People matters; higher-stakes concerns may be addressed by the People Operations Specialist, while lower-stakes issues can be directed to this intern where appropriate.What We're Looking ForExperience & SkillsCurrently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.Proficient in Microsoft Office - especially Excel and Outlook.
