The Safety Coordinator / Safety Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing occupational health and safety at the assigned facility while providing safety leadership and oversight to other ISCO facilities and project sites across the United States and Canada. This role serves as the primary onsite safety authority, ensuring regulatory compliance, proactive hazard identification, workforce engagement, and alignment with corporate safety initiatives. Primary Responsibilities Overall responsibility of the Safety Coordinator is to reduce risk exposure, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance. Serve as the site safety leader and primary point of contact for all safetyrelated matters. Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to identify, document, and mitigate hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions. Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, federal, state, and provincial (Canada) health and safety regulations. Implement, audit, and continuously improve safety programs including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, Hot Work, Fall Protection, Hazard Communication, and Emergency Action Plans. Assist in the development, implementation, and leadership of companywide safety initiatives. Champion safetyrelated technologies, processes, and applications. Provide safety oversight for all daily operations at the home facility. Support regulatory inspections, internal audits, and corrective action tracking. Assist in incident, injury, and nearmiss investigations including root cause analysis and corrective action development. Gather, analyze, and trend safety data to identify improvement opportunities. Support environmental and industrial hygiene monitoring activities such as noise, air quality, and heat stress assessments. Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and response plans. Supporting Responsibilities Travel up to two weeks per month to support: Annual safety facility audits Meaningful positive touch visits Employee mentoring and engagement Project and field technician site visits Assist with safety training development and delivery for employees at all levels. Support onboarding and safety orientation for new hires. Assist with administrative safety functions including documentation, reporting, and tracking. Provide crossfunctional support to operations, maintenance, fabrication, and quality teams. Help drive a positive, engaged, and accountable safety culture. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associates degree or equivalent knowledge, education, and experience; minimum high school diploma required. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safetyrelated role preferred. Demonstrated experience improving safety programs and processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and timemanagement skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word and ability to learn other programs. Experience working in industrial, fabrication, warehouse, or construction environments preferred.
