Job Description

The Singapore National Eye Centre is seeking a highly driven and analytical Assistant Director, Clinical Services (Operating Theatre & Inpatient Services) to support the optimisation, planning, and performance management of our Operating Theatre (OT), Dayward, and inpatient services. Reporting to the Director, Operating Theatre & Inpatient Services, this role works closely with clinical leaders, nursing counterparts, and key stakeholders to maximise OT capacity utilisation, improve perioperative workflows, strengthen performance monitoring, and drive service improvement initiatives that support institutional growth and financial sustainabilitywhile delivering safe, patientcentred care. Key Responsibilities Operating Theatre & Facility Utilisation - Drive optimisation of OT and Dayward utilisation across current and future service sites - Enhance faculty utilisation, scheduling efficiency and turnover performance - Align OT capacity with demand across multiple sites Perioperative Patient Process Improvement - Review and improve endtoend perioperative workflows from preop to discharge - Lead initiatives to reduce surgery delays, cancellations and patient flow bottlenecks - Strengthen coordination across clinics, OT, Dayward, inpatient wards and support services Performance Metrics, Data & Reporting - Develop and refine KPIs for OT, Dayward and Inpatient Services - Analyse operational performance data to identify gaps and support management decisionmaking - Provide regular and timely performance updates to senior management Financial, Equipment & Resource Optimisation - Monitor revenuerelated performance and resource utilisation of surgical services - Drive cost efficiency and value management initiatives for surgical equipment, instrumentation and consumables Service Planning, Innovation & Infrastructure - Support planning and operational readiness for OT services across existing and new sites - Lead capacity planning, workflow design, and service innovation initiatives - Drive the development of digital and operational improvement projects Stakeholder Engagement & Team Leadership - Coordinate multistakeholders across perioperative services - Support governance and quality improvement activities - Supervise and develop assigned staff, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives Clinical IT & Digital Transformation - Support planning and implementation of clinical IT systems and digital initiatives impacting clinical services and faculty operations - Coordinate workflow reviews and operational readiness during system implementation and enhancement initiatives Qualifications & Experience - Bachelors Degree in any discipline (healthcarerelated fields preferred) - Minimum 810 years of experience in operations management, project management or related roles - Experience working in complex, fastpaced organisations preferred Skills & Competencies - Strong analytical, problemsolving and organisational skills - Proven ability to drive results across multiple priorities - Strong stakeholder management, communication and collaboration skills Personal Attributes - Proactive, adaptable, and solutionsoriented - Able to think critically and innovatively - Resilient and comfortable working with crossfunctional teams Why Join Us? - Play a key leadership role in shaping perioperative services in a leading national specialty centre - Opportunity to work closely with senior clinical leaders and influence institutional performance - Be part of an organisation committed to excellence, innovation and patientcentred care #J-18808-Ljbffr
