Job Description Our Construction Phase Services group located in our Markham, Whitby, Toronto and Mississauga Offices is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Inspector to perform inspection duties on Highway/Road/Bridge projects in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The role can be based in any of our GTA offices Toronto, Mississauga, Markham or Whitby. Join our hybrid model: inoffice collaboration 3 days a week with flexibility. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work: Working safely and observing our Behaviour-Based Safety culture. Completing daytoday inspections of Highway / Road / Bridge projects in accordance with client terms and manual. Making payment recommendations to Contract Administrator and client staff. Daily completion of project records / diary entries. Monitoring contractor work for compliance with contract specifications. Monitoring contractor work for compliance with applicable safety and environmental legislation. Taking action, in consultation with Contract Administrator, when nonconformances are observed. Using the Ministry of Transportation WebBased Contract Management System on MTO assignments. Recommending / proposing solutions for emerging project issues. Working nights, weekends, extended shifts. Working overtime hours as necessary. Seasonal work more hours in summer than winter. Mentoring junior staff. External Communications: Supporting others in external communications systems. Construction Management: Providing operational support and acting as firstline supervisor where required. Health, Safety, and Environment: Following HSE policies, identifying risks, and taking corrective action. Work Scheduling and Allocation: Assigning shortterm schedules to achieve expectations. Leadership and Direction: Explaining action plans and motivating the team. Performance Management: Using performance systems to improve personal and team performance. Organizational Capability Building: Coaching team members to develop skills. Operational Compliance: Identifying noncompliance and escalating issues. Quality Assurance: Planning and coordinating testing and inspection of products and processes; implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement. What you will bring to the team Minimum 5 years' experience. OACETT rcsi designation, or PEO EIT designation. Experience in grading, asphalt, and concrete work on greater than three transportation projects. Sound judgment and decisiveness. Valid Ontario Class G drivers licence. Team player, cooperative with other staff and sharing information. The salary range for this position is $80,472 $120,708, reflective of major city centres.
