With more than a century of experience and a full suite of integrated services, Aecon is a trusted partner for delivering complex civil projects, including tunnels, transit expansions, airports, ports, highways, and largescale site development.This role will support the BIM/IDD Manager to enable Integrated Digital Delivery outcomes, ensuring information is delivered and coordinated between engineering disciplines, organizations, and packages.What Youll Do HereSupport daytoday activities for BIM, GIS and digital construction across project disciplines (design, estimating, planning, construction).Develop phased site development 2D and 3D drawings for construction.Create and maintain corridors/sections/profiles for road design alignments.Perform quantity takeoffs using cut/fill tracking, XML surface extractions.Support the IDD/BIM lead to ensure correct activities are assigned to consultant supply chains Information Managers.Provide coordination reports of interfaces between engineering disciplines/design, and construction / temporary and permanent works design activities through the IDD process.Coordinate and develop design to construction through IDD processes such as 5D/4D to ensure consideration and optimization of sustainability, digital engineering, buildability, carbon, logistics, industrialisation, designing for maintenance and health, safety and welfare during construction and inuse.Run IDD tools training workshops to enable people to deliver their responsibilities in relation to Aecon IDD Strategy.Coordinate with Project Managers and Construction Managers to develop a projectspecific process for utilizing or creating 3D information for estimating, logistics, planning, scheduling, coordination, field layout and/or facilitation management.Coordinate with field superintendents, construction managers, design engineers, and others to meet constructability requirements.Create projectspecific protocols regarding communication and data exchange, nomenclature, format, 3D workspace orientation to ensure interoperability as required.Facilitate consultant and trades through multiple project phases with digital logistic construction management process.Assist in creating projectspecific contract language for tender packages for 3D submission process and 3D asbuilts for facilities management.Review, coordinate and manage creation of Project Information Models.Project deployment duties include installing software, organizing, maintaining and setting up CAD exchange environments, basic training & support for project team, coordination assistance, file conversions and documenting processes and solutions for reuse.Champion 3D coordination on active job site, act as liaison with project team, consultants and subcontractors to facilitate process and maintain Master Project BIM database.Identify opportunities and recommend solutions that enhance or improve processes.What You Bring To The Team35 years of relevant experience on large infrastructure projects.Large infrastructure BIM implementation experience.Educational and industry experience: Engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training plus experience/knowledge of civil construction practice.Excellent knowledge of BIM standards (ISO19650, Institute of BIM in Canada).Experience with model federation platforms such as Assemble Systems, Navisworks and Bentley Navigator.Experience in implementing Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise and Aconex.Detailed understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc., and their impact on project activities.Working knowledge of EHS regulations.Experience across all stages of a project lifecycle.Experience working within construction project environments.Desirable experience on large complex infrastructure projects.Understanding of design and construction phases and alignment with the Digital Plan of Works.Desirable onsite construction experience.Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence).Excellent customerservice skills, passion for problem ownership, and a customerfirst attitude.Proven experience in priority setting, multitasking, and working with minimal direct supervision.Bilingual (French and English) would be considered an asset.Ability to travel to site, mobile for projects.Reason for vacancy: New
