Description As a Power Engineer 4th Class, you will play a key role in supporting facility operations while working under the direction of the Facility Supervisor. As a member of the Maintenance team, the Power Engineer 4th Class is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable repair, installation, and maintenance of production equipment, as well as the upkeep of the building and grounds. Note: this position requires a Manitoba Class 4 Power Engineer Certificate. Only qualified candidates will be contacted. RESPONSIBILITIES: Regularly inspect refrigeration, heating and ventilating equipment for defects and improper operation and make necessary adjustments or repairs. Responsible for Inspection, repair, replacement, installation, adjustment and maintenance of all types of refrigeration, heating and ventilating equipment within the facility. Arrange and coordinate assistance and resources from other departments such as Mechanics, Electricians, and HVAC Mechanics as required. Perform regular Work Orders and shop work, as well as account for inventory and labour on a CMMS system. Responsible for advising Supervisors when material and supplies are required. Receive instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repairs, installation and inspection work to be done. Create tests to determine efficiency of equipment and adjusts for proper operating characteristics. Diagnose trouble using testing equipment and own judgment based on a general knowledge of Class 4 refrigeration, heating and ventilating principles Work during the scheduled shutdown and overtime to complete tasks, including callins. Report for duty within a reasonable time limit when there is a call back. Promote teamwork, cooperation, and effective communication within the department and Company. Interact with all levels of the operation in support of Winpaks TQI program. Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner compliant with ISO 9001 and SQF 2000 standards. Must understand and adhere to all plant Food/Health and Safety Policies and GMP. Mechanical and Electrical knowledge of power transmissions, pneumatics, hydraulics & electronics. Monitor and adjusts physical plant and HVAC systems including calibrations and settings. Construct items and repair walls, doors, floors, ceilings, windows, furniture, tables and shelves Operate various types of moving equipment such as Forklifts, Genies, Floor scrubbers, Skyjacks. Work during the scheduled shutdown, shift work and overtime to complete tasks, including call-ins. Report to duty within a reasonable time limit when there is a call back. Perform other duties related to engineering as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Grade 12 diploma or equivalent. Must have minimum two years experience working in a manufacturing environment Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Experience in aspects of Refrigeration and Chiller units including Water Treatment, Valves, Switches, Pumps, Pneumatic controls, HVAC, Pressure Boilers, Generators, Electronic controls. Condensers, Compressors, Alarms, Cooling towers. Aware of workplace safety regulations. Must be comfortable with heights and smaller, confined spaces.
