Position Overview Were actively hiring skilled Field Service Technicians who are ready to hit the ground running. Responsibilities Perform testing, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high voltage systems (up to 600 kV) Conduct transformer testing (TTR, Doble, insulation resistance, power factor) Test protective relays (electromechanical & digital) and calibrate power meters Perform cable testing (VLF, Tan Delta, DC Hipot, power factor) Inspect and test switchgear, breakers, and automatic transfer switches Support startups and commissioning of critical electrical systems Respond to urgent customer service calls on a rotating oncall schedule Accurately collect, document, and analyze test data Travel to customer sites across Manitoba (and occasionally out of province) Qualifications We need technicians who can step in immediately and make an impact. Minimum 5+ years of handson electrical testing experience, including switchgear, transformers, and protection systems Electrical Engineering Technology diploma, Electrical Power & Control degree, or equivalent handson experience NETA Certification (IIV) is highly desired Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills in complex electrical environments Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Excel, and reporting software (PowerDB a plus) Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to electrical safety procedures Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage priorities, and handle emergency calls Flexible and reliable, with the ability to travel (~50%) and work overtime as needed Physically capable of performing field work, including lifting (up to 34 kg / 75 lbs), climbing, and working in various environments Why Join Shermco Canada Competitive pay with overtime opportunities Paid training & certification support Career growth into senior technical or leadership roles Work with cuttingedge electrical testing equipment on highimpact projects Supportive team culture and strong safety focus Opportunities to work across diverse industrial and utility sites Equal Opportunity Employer Shermco Canada is committed to an inclusive and accessible workplace.
