Fitzrovia is seeking to hire a Property Accountant to join our team. The Property Accountant position will be primarily responsible for completing the monthly accounting and reporting cycle for several of Fitzrovias managed properties. Additional responsibilities will be required on a periodic basis including supporting management with information requests or financial analysis. As we are a highly collaborative team, this role is full-time on-site, and the successful candidate will be required to work in the office Monday to Friday. This posting is for an existing vacancy. The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $90,000, plus a competitive performance-based annual bonus, based on skills and experience. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial records for various stakeholders Perform monthly accounting close procedures Receiving and verifying invoices for various projects and corporate subsidiaries Preparing daily transactions for all projects (wires, loan requests, etc) Reconciling vendor statements, researching, and correcting discrepancies, as needed Managing credit card reconciliations Logging cheques for distribution Preparing vendor cheques for mailing Track monthly budget variances Support senior property accountants with requested financial analysis or retrieval of information Cash flow management Prepare quarterly and annual compliance reporting Prepare monthly investor distributions / capital calls Perform other duties as required Qualifications and Experiences CPA, CA or CPA or actively enrolled in the CPA program is considered a strong asset Post-secondary education with a specialty in Accounting or Business Administration At least 2 years experience in a similar role and/or accounting and tax experience in a corporate environment is considered a strong asset Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and planning skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet time sensitive deadlines Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Proficiency in Yardi is considered a strong asset Flexibility to work outside of core hours when business needs dictate Self-starter attitude with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment Highest degree of integrity, honesty and commitment to professionalism Why Fitzrovia Fitzrovia is a vertically integrated development and asset manager focused on Class-A and vintage-style apartment buildings across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Montreal.
