ABOUT THE ROLE Are you a creative editor with a passion for crafting thumb-stopping social content? Magnafire is looking for a Video Editor & Social Strategist to own short-form content from brief to delivery, and to help shape how Magnafire and its clients show up on social. This is an in-house, on-site role at our studio in East Vancouver. Notable clients include Red Bull, Arc'teryx, and lululemon. You have a passion for creating the most entertaining, thumb-stopping content on social media. You flex your creative muscles on product launches, incredible feats of human achievement, adventure, and entertainment. You are equally creative and precise, obsessing over every frame, every cut, every caption. HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME - 70% Video Editing & Post-Production. - 20% Social Media Strategy & Content Ideation. - 10% General Office & Production Support. RESPONSIBILITIES Editing & Post-Production - Receive briefs, assemble draft edits, and carry projects through to final client approval - Execute video editing, motion graphics, titling, sound mix, and colour grading to a high creative standard. - QC all deliverables to ensure flawless exports and platform-native versions for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and broadcast where required. - Edit and deliver Magnafire owned-channel content on a weekly cadence - Create short-form cutdowns, GIFs, and platform-specific assets for LinkedIn and other priority channels. - Support the Head of Post-Production throughout each project. Social Media Strategy & Content - Concept and ideate new short-form content aligned with client brand voice, campaign goals, and target audience. - Contribute to social strategy for client campaigns and Magnafires own channels across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube. - Write Instagram captions that are on-brand, platform-native, and audience-aware - Publish content strategically across priority platforms, optimizing timing, format, and presentation for performance. - Track content performance, gather key platform insights, and help translate data into stronger creative going forward. - Stay ahead of social trends, platform updates, algorithm shifts, and emerging content formats - Liaise with clients to receive feedback and turn around revisions quickly. WHAT YOU'LL BRING Required - 4+ years' experience editing in Adobe Premiere Pro. - 3+ years working in social-first content, with strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. - Strong command of assembly editing, titling, motion graphics, and sound mixing. - Demonstrated understanding of what works on social, why it works, and how to tailor content to specific audiences. - Ability to concept and execute content ideas that speak to clear target audiences - Sharp eye for pacing, music, and visual storytelling in short-form formats. Preferred - 3+ years of After Effects experience. - Experience posting and scheduling strategically on Instagram. - Keen eye for graphic design and typography. - Passion for sport, adventure, and wellness brand storytelling. - On-set production or filming experience. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE (FIRST 12 MONTHS) - Client satisfaction: Avg. 9/10 on post-project client surveys. - On-time delivery: 95% of edits delivered on schedule to the agreed client deadline. - Revision efficiency: 2 revision rounds on 80% of deliverables. Nailing the brief the first time. - Output volume: Contribute to 150+ delivered social assets per year across client and Magnafire owned channels. - Owned channel cadence: Magnafire's social channels receive at least 1 edited piece of content per week, consistently. - Content ideation: Contribute 2 original content concepts per month for client or Magnafire channels. - AI adoption: Quarterly AI workflow check-ins; 50% of eligible projects use at least one approved AI assist. COMPENSATION & EMPLOYMENT - Employment Type: Full-time, on-site (East Vancouver). - Salary Range: $60k to $72k base, depending on experience. - Vacation & Leave: 3 weeks paid vacation; paid sick days. - Hours: MonFri, 95; occasional on-set support as needed. - Start Date: May 1, 2026 preferred; June 1 or July 1 also possible.
