Location: 25 Fielding - Hard Rock CanadaDivision: Research and DevelopmentShift: 14x14Travel Requirements: Up to 50% Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our MC51 Hard Rock Continuous Mining product team, reporting to the Service Product Programs Manager. The position, with a work location in Ontario or Quebec, is responsible for commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and documenting the performance and productivity of MC51 R&D products and components within an underground mining environment. The successful candidate will work across both mechanical and electrical systems at customer sites, ensuring equipment operates to defined specifications while monitoring performance data to support company productivity goals. In close collaboration with the R&D design team, this role will provide critical feedback on product performance, recommend improvements, and contribute to future design considerations. Key Job Responsibilities Assemble the hard rock MC51 machine, focusing on electrical and mechanical components to ensure proper functionality. Commission the hard rock MC51 machine, verifying both electrical and mechanical systems are operating correctly. Inspect and conduct complete tests on MC51 machine prototypes to ensure they function as intended, focusing on both electrical and mechanical aspects. Train users in the operation of the MC51 machine, emphasizing both electrical and mechanical procedures. Provide training to users on the maintenance and repair of the MC51 machine, covering electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques. Offer handson support for machine fault finding and breakdowns underground, addressing electrical and mechanical issues promptly. Provide design feedback and change requests to engineering for electrical, controls and mechanical systems. Maintain accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists related to electrical and mechanical components of the MC51 machine. Assist in sourcing and supplying inventory required during machine trials at customer sites, focusing on electrical and mechanical spare parts and components. Qualifications / Requirements Technical certification, diploma, or engineering degree in electrical or mechanical fields. 3+ years related electrical & mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and operating experience with underground mining industryspecific equipment. Ability to work varied shift schedule. Ability to travel as required. Required to work underground and complete mine site medical clearance requirements. Underground common core certification required. Legally eligible to work in Canada. Valid Canadian drivers license. May be required to travel remotely up to 50% of the time. Compensation Range At Komatsu, base pay is just one part of a comprehensive total compensation package designed to support and reward our employees. For this role, the annual base compensation range is $106,000.00 to $140,000.00 CAD. The final offer will be determined based on several factors, including the candidates skills, experience, qualifications, and the position location.
