Job Description

OverviewThe TELUS Digital team is seeking French-speaking linguists located in Canada for the Accents Data Collection Project.ResponsibilitiesListen to audio samples (approx. 30 seconds each) to assess regional accent and language.Verify transcription accuracy, correct it if needed, and evaluate task completion against the instructions.Report issues regarding background noise or other transcription concerns.Project detailsWorkload: tasks are available on an almost daily basis; volume varies.Overall time: 2 to 4 hours for the project.Remote work from home.Estimated project duration: August November 2025.Estimated time per task: up to 2.5 minutes.QualificationsSpeaker of French and currently located in Canada.Pass the French Fluency Test and the English Fluency Test.Linguistic background required; relevant examples include:Linguist or Phonetician (specializing in language sounds and accents).Dialectologist (regional language variations and dialects).Language Teacher or Researcher (experience identifying and teaching accents).Voice Actor Coach (helping actors perfect specific accents).AI Speech Recognition Specialist (improving accent recognition in speech-to-text systems).Advanced degree in linguistics, phonetics, or related field (preferred).Experience with speech analysis software and transcription; exposure to various languages/accents.Access to a computer and stable Internet connection.This is an independent contractor opportunity.Compensation & enrollmentSelected linguists receive $1.10 per item (approx. $26.43/hour based on average productivity).Payments via TELUS International AI Community Portal.Raters relocating to another country should inform the production team.How to applyFor questions or more details about the project, contact and include the code Linguistic Review French in the subject line. #J-18808-Ljbffr
