OverviewThe African Union Sixth Region Global (AU6RG) is a dynamic, diaspora-led initiative dedicated to bridging the gap between Africans on the continent and those in the diaspora. Our mission is to foster unity, collaboration, and cultural exchange through innovative digital media, advocacy, and community engagement. We believe in the power of storytelling to challenge perceptions, celebrate African heritage, and drive meaningful dialogue.Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate Volunteer Content Creator to join our team and help produce engaging, thought-provoking content for our digital platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter/X, YouTube, Pinterest). This unpaid volunteer position offers a unique opportunity to build your portfolio, expand your network, and make a tangible impact in the African diaspora community. Ideal candidates must be eager to learn and take on diverse roles with enthusiasm.ResponsibilitiesContent Creation: Develop short-form videos (under 1 minute), articles, and social media posts that align with AU6RGs mission and values.Storytelling: Craft compelling narratives that challenge stereotypes, promote cultural understanding, and celebrate African identity.Collaboration: Work with the team to brainstorm ideas, refine messaging, and ensure content resonates with a diverse audience.Research: Stay informed about current events, trends, and issues affecting Africans in the diaspora and on the continent.Engagement: Help grow our online community by creating content that encourages dialogue, participation, and action.Consistency: Commit to a weekly content schedule, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials.Time Commitment & DurationWeekly: 1520 hours (flexible, based on project needs).Duration: Initial commitment of 3 months, with the possibility of extension.Location & CommitmentLocation: Remote (Global) | Commitment: Part-time, VolunteerNote: This is an unpaid volunteer position, but it offers opportunities to build a portfolio and professional network.RequirementsSkills required: Copy Writing Editing Graphic Design Photo Editing Social Media Website ProductionLanguages Needed: English, French and proficiency in African languages, Patois, Creole.Qualifications and Skills Passion for African Culture: A deep appreciation for African history, traditions, and contemporary issues. Creative Skills: Experience in video production, writing, graphic design, or social media management is a plus. Storytelling Ability: A knack for turning complex ideas into engaging, accessible content.
