Duty Manager North (Part Time) Start Date: Immediately Salary: $19.95/hour $22.17/hour Hours for this position are provided based on operational needs of the branch. Postsecondary education is preferred Proven experience acting as a leader, and applying the right skills to dynamic environments, people, and situations Exceptional customer service skills Strong conflict resolution skills Experience in a leadership position Interest in and dedication to Health and Safety policy and procedure Able to multitask and demonstrate strong timemanagement skills Communicates effectively both orally and in writing Experience working in a health and safety role is an asset Current Standard First Aid with CPRC certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider (asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St Johns Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol) Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search Three professional references What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary? Hold a regular weekly Duty Manager shift at a regional facility. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends with irregular and extended hours. Ability to work at multiple regional facilities across the association. Ability to work at times in a fastpaced environment with high pressure and stress situations. Ability to provide excellent customer service with communication skills that can deescalate situations. Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet the needs and demands of facility operations. Maintain a safety work environment ensuring the safety of all facility users in a proactive manner. Ensure facility security, following all opening and closing procedures. Respond to facility emergencies, firstaid requests, incidents, and thefts. Accurate recording of incidents and interactions through internal reporting systems. Be aware of all programs and facility bookings; ensuring that facilitators have all necessary resources. Work in a team environment to provide excellent service; providing support to busy areas, tours, setup of program areas and anything else required to ensure the smooth operation of the facility. Coordinating the emergency response within the branch, including contacting emergency services and administering firstaid and CPR when required. Remain alert at all times to prevent and respond to emergencies and health and safety concerns within the branch. Walk throughout the facility and maintain contact with all departments including traditional office spaces, weight floor, and pool areas. Position can be physically taxing requiring extended periods of walking, standing, scanning, moderate bending, lifting and repetitive movements as needed in emergency situations.
