You'll impact the world around you by helping us solve reallife challenges.As a Senior Environmental Construction Specialist, you will provide technical leadership and guidance on the execution of the construction phase of our challenging natural resource projects, as well as coordinate, mentor, and support our team of biologists and planners. Based out of our Burnaby, BC or Calgary, AB offices, this will be a fulltime, mostly officebased role with potential for site visits.Youll have the opportunity to work as part of multidisciplinary project teams and subjectmatter experts to guide biophysical environmental elements through the construction and compliance phase of projects for government and privately owned infrastructure projects. You will provide strategic direction and supervision for construction projects with the opportunity to participate in other project phases from design through operations. In this position, you will establish and maintain relationships with clients, regulators, and subcontractors and provide insight into business development. This is a technical role, and the successful candidate will have a reputation in the industry as a technical expert and a demonstrated ability to defend the technical rigor of the work completed.Bring your expertise in environmental science and desire to conserve our natural resources, and well empower you to deliver.Heres what youll needBachelor's or Masters degree in biology, fish or aquaticrelated studies, wildlife, ecology, or other related biophysical fields.Hold or be eligible for Professional Designation under one of the following BC College of Applied Biology, Alberta Society of Professional Biologists, Alberta Institute of Agrologists, or other environmental sciencebased designation.A minimum of 10+ years of experience as an Environmental Specialist in the natural resources sector in western Canada, preferably in a consulting environment.Indepth knowledge and experience of construction of linear infrastructure and relevant provincial and federal environmental legislation that impacts compliance in western Canada, such as the federal Fisheries Act, Canadian Navigable Waters Act, Species at Risk Act, Canadian Energy Regulator Act, and provincial (Alberta Water Act, British Columbia Water Sustainability Act, and Alberta Public Lands Act) regulations.Demonstrated expertise in advising and overseeing construction phases of pipeline projects.Strong understanding of guiding regulations that form Environmental Management Plans and project mitigation.Previous experience leading and providing a practical solutionsbased approach to fastdeveloping issues in a timely manner while collaborating with a team of biologists of varying skill levels and experience.Desire to grow positive mentoring relationships.Excellent technical writing skills and experience providing technical review and edits as needed.Relevant oil and gas regulatory experience.Experience liaising with regulators and providing strategic regulatory advice to clients and internal teams during all stages of the project life cycle.Ideally, youll also haveExperience working with a diverse range of industrial clients, including oil and gas, mining, transportation, and energy.Experience growing and maintaining client relationships and business development opportunities.Time management skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on multiple tasks/projects and meet project deadlines within budget.Experience viewing and/or collecting field data using a mobile app (e.g., Esri Field Maps or Survey 123).Experience viewing and/or reviewing digitally collected field data in a web browser or desktopbased digital solution.Must have a drivers license and clean drivers abstract for any work travel.Posted Salary Range Minimum: $95,500.00Posted Salary Range Upper: $149,275.00The base salary range for this position is $95,500.00 to $149,275.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across British Columbia, Canada locations.
