Job Description

What is the project?The Pickering Nuclear Generating Station Refurbishment Program Involves Designing And Building a New Deep-water Intake In Lake Ontario To Improve The Plant's Cooling System. This Will InvolveA 1.5 km-long tunnel, built by a pressurized TBM (10.15 m diameter slurry TBM);Two vertical shafts (onshore and offshore);An offshore modular intake structure, resting on the lake bed.The project is distinguished by its proximity to an active nuclear site, requiring rigorous standards of safety, planning and coordination.What You Will DoThe Field Engineer is responsible for the redaction of construction documentation, ensuing coordination between work zones and the compliance of HSE plan. They will work with the site team and subcontractors to validate they are working with the latest approved documents and communicate any deviations.Concretely, Your Tasks Will BeResponsible for a portion of construction on the Project, such as a section, work area, structure or work zoneRedaction of construction documentation (Work Plan, JHA, Specific Safety Plan,)Participate in weekly subcontractor works meetings to plan construction activities and update the scheduleEnhance coordination between the allocated work zone and the other work zones adjacentEnsure the site team and subcontractors are working with latest approved documentsRecord and alert on progress of the works, as well as any deviations observed during construction workPropose and implement corrective actionsParticipate in QHSE meetings and QHSE programs, motivate the personnel and ensure that staff follow the QHSE policiesEnsure compliance of the works with the safety recommendations and the measures stipulated in the Health Safety Environment Plan. Must stop the works any time there is a risk for personnel injuryAcknowledgment of subcontractor planning and alerting on subcontractor deviationsParticipate in formulating the operating procedures, coordination meetings, 3-week lookahead schedules and other project construction meetingsSubmit documents constituting feedback relating to the works, in particular the daily reportsEnsure compliance with protective measures including the regular cleaning of work areas, and the sorting and removal of wastes for treatment, in accordance with the Environmental Management and Waste Management PlansBachelors degree in Civil EngineeringMinimum of 3-5 years experience in the construction industry, preferably on large infrastructure projects in the GTASite production and management experienceString organizational and problem solving skillsAdaptable to new environmentsStrong capacity for teamworkInitiative, resourcefulness and autonomyWhy us?Gross annual salary between 85K and 105K. depending on experience and profileCareer development opportunities;A cosmopolite and inclusive work environment;Attractive and challenging project. #J-18808-Ljbffr
