Join to apply for the Civil Structural Project Engineer role at Envista Forensics in Calgary, Alberta. Overview We have an immediate opportunity for a Civil/Structural Engineer. If you have your P.Eng., 10 years of practical experience in structural engineering design and Project Management, experience in failure analysis, and enjoy a challenge, this is the opportunity for you. Responsibilities Investigate the origin and cause of failures, damages or defects in the civil/structural fields within residential, commercial, and industrial sites. Analyze the failure of building systems, determine the cause of failures, evaluate the quality of construction, or review design or maintenance procedures. Perform field investigations, lead multiparty examinations and documentation of damaged property. Research failure modes and code requirements as needed, prepare recommendations for repair and/or remediation as appropriate. Prepare reports and letters outlining the origin and cause of the damages to clients. Manage or work with multi-disciplinary teams on large and complex assignments. Establish trusted working relationships with clients and interact socially at mixed engagements with clients. Requirements Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline is required. Active P. Eng. is required (in the province of employment is preferred). 10 years experience in design in a combination of residential, commercial and industrial settings preferred. Experience as a multi-disciplinary Project Manager. Experience on construction sites desired. 2530%+ travel. Ability to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions. Ability to work in high areas such as roofs or scaffolding, requiring physical agility, balance, and resistance to acrophobia.
