With approximately 900 employees, we operate a fleet of 45+ aircraft including the Metro 2, 3, 23, Merlin and Dash 8 aircraft. We are based in Winnipeg and Thompson, Manitoba as well as Sioux Lookout, Timmins, Thunder Bay, and Toronto Ontario. We provide scheduled passenger and freight services to Northern Manitoba and Northern Ontario, 24/7 North American charter services, Medical evacuation services and a fullservice maintenance facility including design engineering, NDT, and Garrett turbine engine services. Position Summary Reporting to the Assistant Chief Pilot, the 705 Captain transports thousands of passengers each year. As a pilot, your number one priority is to conduct each flight safely, taking into consideration the comfort of each passenger and ontime performance. Personal Characteristics Must be fluent in English Highly flexible, with the ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environment Professional and respectful, with a positive work attitude Timely with a high level of commitment to ontime performance is essential Motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Effective verbal and written communication skills Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with all departments, business partners and customers Superior timemanagement skills, multitasking skills and the ability to prioritize tasks High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability Able to handle stressful situations in a calm and effective manner Customer Serviceoriented with a commitment to exceptional service Strong problem solving and analytical skills High level of respect, understanding and regard for First Nations communities Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Conduct flights with strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures, Canadian Aviation Regulations, Aircraft Flight Manual, and the Company Operations Manual Check weather, all applicable NOTAMs where available and determine fuel and oil requirements Calculate the airplane weight and balance Review, amend and accept the Operational Flight Plan (Type B 705 operation) Complete an airplane preflight inspection before each departure Load, unload and secure cargo/freight as required Complete flight watch jointly with the flight dispatcher (Type B 705 operation) Complete all post flight duties, including notification/confirmation to the Company of the whereabouts of the airplane when away from base, recording flight times and any defects Continue to meet and exceed the Transport Canada Qualification standards for a Pilot Perform additional duties as assigned Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations Category 1 Medical Current Group 1 Instrument Rating Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with 500 hours on DHC8 is preferred Previous airline experience is considered an asset Pilots must be fluent in English, and be able to demonstrate effective verbal and listening comprehension Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset Working Conditions Physically able to perform all listed job duties Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role Work performed both indoors and outdoors; employee must be able to adapt to all outdoor weather conditions Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be able to travel for extended periods #J-18808-Ljbffr
