Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee a small but capable team and play a key role in strengthening controls, improving processes, and supporting the business through a period of rapid growth and transformation.Key responsibilities include: Overseeing the full-cycle accounting function, including month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliationsEstablishing and enhancing month-end processes, controls, and reporting accuracyManaging tax compliance and liaising with external advisors and auditorsSupporting capital project accounting, including tracking and capitalization of large-scale investmentsLeading and supporting ERP/system implementation and process improvementsProviding leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, including AR and junior staffPartnering cross-functionally with operations and leadership to support business initiativesEnsuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS/ASPE) and internal policiesIdentifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and overall finance function effectiveness This role is both hands-on and strategic, ideal for someone who enjoys building structure, leading change, and operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Requirements Education: CPA designation required Experience:8-12+ years of progressive accounting experienceMinimum 3-5+ years in a leadership role overseeing full-cycle accountingExperience in a capital-intensive, multi-entity, or project-based environment is preferredExposure to private equity-backed, infrastructure, technology or high-growth organizations is an assetTechnical Skills:Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or ASPEExperience overseeing tax compliance and working with external advisors/auditorsProven experience leading or supporting ERP/system implementationsSolid understanding of project accounting and fixed asset managementCompetencies:Hands-on leader with the ability to operate both strategically and tacticallyStrong process improvement mindset with a focus on building scalable systems and controlsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAdaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment Additional Information: The Mason Group is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and accessible recruitment process.
