Together, we can change lives through better sight.What Youll DoPurpose of the roleThe Payroll Administrator is responsible for the administration of benefits and processing of payroll for all Canadian Support Offices, Manufacturing and Distribution sites and wholly owned stores. This role holder will also support the delivery of high-quality payroll services in a manner that maximizes the use of technology and offers exemplary customer service.The ideal candidate will have payroll experience across BC, AB, MB and ON as part of a bigger international organization and will also have strong customer service focus with great attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Key ResponsibilitiesPayrollProcess full cycle payrolls for hourly and salaried employees on an accurate and timely basisProcess new hires, employee changes, terminations and ROEs as requiredReview and ensure accuracy of approved time and attendanceComply with company policies, procedures, and internal payroll controls to ensure accurate payroll processingAssist in implementing and maintaining payroll best practices to improve efficiencyAdminister various payments such as vacation pays, sick pay, bonus, allowances etc.Perform month-end functions including journal entries and payroll account reconciliationAssist in managing the annual payroll year-end processes, including the issuance of all T4s and all necessary provincial year-end returns, YTD adjustments as requiredAssist in payroll system implementations and conversionsCompile and prepare payroll reports for managementRespond to payroll inquiries within timelines, delivering a high level of customer service for all Specsavers Canadian employees including the international secondees in CanadaMaintain payroll SOPs for efficient workflowBenefits administration including enrolments, life changes, terminations, account balancing and reconciliationsReview all documentation pertaining to benefits and follow up with internal/external source providers to process required changesMonitor employee premiums and ensure accurate deductions are made through payrollAnswering employee questions about benefit programs and resolving employee issues with benefit providersKeep accurate records of all benefits transactions and related back upAudit monthly carrier invoices for accuracy and changesWhat Were Looking ForTrack record of day-to-day administration of payroll and benefits programsCurrently enrolled with the National Payroll Institute with a goal to obtain these designations.Minimum one year payroll work experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office; intermediate or advanced Excel skills (formulas, vlookup, pivot tables, etc.)Strong communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to interact with all levels of the businessAbility to understand employee payroll & benefit issues and communicate solutions effectively, professionally, and respectfullyDemonstrated ability to work with highly confidential informationWell-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detailPositive, professional, and friendly team playerNice to haveExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAdministration of international mobility / secondmentsStrong history of applying continuous improvement concepts and toolsExperience with multi HRIS systems3 weeks of vacation and 1 paid volunteer day1 extra paid day off and an eyecare voucher on your birthdayRRSP matchingQuarterly performance bonusHealthcare spending accountHealth and dental benefits effective on your first dayTeam and company social eventsCollaborative: We work together as one Specsavers to deliver our purposeCurious: We question, explore, and seek out diverse perspectives to develop our knowledge and understandingCourageous: We challenge the status quo, we experiment with good ideas, and we are brave, bold, and fast in our decision makingCompassionate: We care, support, and help each otherCommercial: We treat money wisely and make decisions that are good for our customers, our partners, our people, and good for the long termWe hope that in applying with us, you value these things as well!Our Hybrid Work ModelBe part of the dynamic culture!
