Job Title: Policy Analyst Job Requisition ID: 83199 Ministry: Mental Health and Addiction Location: Edmonton Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week Permanent: Yes Closing Date: May 11, 2026 Classification: Program Services 3 (023PSA) Salary Range: $2,935.39 to $3,850.29 bi-weekly ($76,613$100,492/year) Role Responsibilities - Plan and complete environmental scanning, foresight activities, research, and analysis to inform policy and system priorities. - Develop concise, high-quality briefings, reports, correspondence, and presentations for senior and executive leadership. - Support the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of addiction and mental health policies, strategies, and initiatives. - Coordinate and contribute to branch, division, and system-level planning and reporting activities, including performance measures and operational plans. - Manage and monitor grants and contracts to support innovation across the system, ensuring compliance with agreements and reporting. - Build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Recovery Alberta, other ministries, service providers, and federal and provincial partners. - Represent the branch and ministry on crossministry committees, working groups, and stakeholder engagements. - Provide secretariat and committee management support, including coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, and following up on action items. - Support implementation and ongoing monitoring of legislation, including the Mental Health Act, and provide operational support to Albertas Mental Health Review Panels. Qualifications - University degree in a Health or Human Services field plus at least 2 years of progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent. - Experience conducting policy analysis, research, or environmental scanning to support policy or systemlevel decisions. - Experience preparing briefings, reports, correspondence, or presentations for management or senior leadership. - Experience engaging with internal and/or external stakeholders to support policy development, planning, or implementation. - Experience supporting the planning, implementation, or monitoring of policies, programs, initiatives, or projects in a complex organizational environment. - Assets: experience in addiction and mental health policy, public sector, grant or contract management, and committee secretariat support.
