Provide concrete information or your application may be screened out.Education:Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in naval architectureExperience:Experience normally acquired over FIVE (5) consecutive years in one or more of the following areas: marine ship design, construction, repairs, operation, inspection, quality assurance or other marine-related areas; and/or experience in technical or operational management of ships.Applied / assessed at a later dateKnowledge:Knowledge of Canada Shipping Act, 2001 and related regulations; knowledge of international maritime legislation including conventions.Abilities:Effective oral and written communication; ability to analyze technical matters and resolve operational problems; ability to work under stress with multiple priorities and tight deadlines.Language requirements (essential for the job)May be applied / assessed at a later dateExperience:Experience as a master or chief engineer on vessels; experience as an employer representative or health and safety committee member/representative under Canada Labour Code Part II or provincial equivalents; experience in safety management systems and quality assurance programs; experience as a port captain, independent surveyor or surveyor for classification societies; experience in design, construction or repair of commercial vessels or small vessels; experience in managing large technical projects; experience as a vessel superintendent.Knowledge:Specialized knowledge/operations in tankers, LNG, TDG, cargo handling; knowledge of the area of operation.Our commitmentWe are committed to an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process.
