Senior Accountant (3 month contract with high possibility of becoming permanent)Location: Calgary (On-site)Annual Salary: $85,000 - $95,000Were hiring on behalf of a prominent commercial and residential real estate developer for a Senior Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties. This role is ideal for someone with strong real estate accounting experience, analytical skills, and proficiency in Yardi.Key ResponsibilitiesManage rent and lease administration, including invoicing, renewals, and escalationsOversee accounts receivable (tenant billing, reconciliations) and review accounts payable codingPrepare and analyze financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to stakeholdersSupport budgeting and forecasting, including variance analysis and recommendationsComplete CAM reconciliations in compliance with lease agreementsTrack capital expenditures and ensure lease complianceAct as a key contact for tenant and internal financial inquiriesUtilize Yardi and Excel to maintain accurate financial recordsReview accounting work and provide guidance/mentorship to team membersQualifications & RequirementsBachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)CPA (or in progress) is an asset5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in property management/real estateStrong experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and CAM reconciliationsProficiency in Yardi and advanced Excel skillsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to interpret lease agreements and apply them to accounting processesAI may be used to screen, assess or select applicants for the position.
