If youre looking for a place where hard work and ambition are recognized and rewarded, wed love to meet you.The Opportunity We are seeking a WMS Technical Specialist 3PL Business Analyst to support the successful implementation, enhancement, and ongoing support of KWE Canadas Warehouse Management System (WMS) for the 3PL Division. This role is primarily a hands-on technical position focused on WMS configuration, integration support, environment/release coordination, and data-driven troubleshooting and leveraging strong PostgreSQL/SQL skills to validate transactions, analyze issues, and support reporting. In addition, the role applies Business Analyst capabilities (requirements elicitation, process mapping, gap analysis, and stakeholder communication) to translate warehouse operational needs into robust, supportable WMS solutions.You will be responsible for configuring and enhancing the Tecsys Mainline WMS using the iTopia Framework, supporting reporting via Cognos, validating end-to-end transactions across integrated systems, and driving continuous improvement across inbound, outbound, inventory, and billing-related processes.What Youll Do Perform full system configuration and setup within Tecsys Mainline (iTopia), including workflows, rules, inventory controls, task management, allocation strategies, RF menus, labels/printing parameters, and user roles/security.Maintain and document configuration changes, supporting proper promotion/deployment practices and ensuring operational readiness for go-live activities, site expansions, and new module rollouts.Support warehouse-related hardware and peripherals including RF devices and printers; coordinate installation, testing, and delivery to end users.Lead data and transaction troubleshooting using PostgreSQL/SQL (queries, joins, views, stored routines where applicable) to validate end-to-end flows, reconcile inventory/transaction variances, and perform root cause analysis across WMS processes.Create and maintain SQL queries/scripts to support operational investigations, ad-hoc analysis, and validation of billing/charge triggers, inventory balances, and shipment confirmations.Apply database fundamentals (data structures, indexing concepts, query execution awareness) to improve the reliability and performance of data investigations and reporting outputs; work with DB/Infrastructure resources when deeper tuning or environment changes are required.Monitor and troubleshoot WMS interfaces by reviewing integration queues/logs and validating payloads (EDI/API/XML/flat files); identify failure patterns, coordinate corrective actions, and confirm successful retransmission and downstream posting.Work with APIs, EDI transactions, flat files, and XML interfaces to confirm accurate end-to-end data flow across platforms (e.g., ERP/TMS/customer host systems); triage failures and coordinate fixes with internal teams and vendors.Coordinate and support system upgrades, patches, releases, and deployments; perform functional validation and support stabilization activities during and after production changes.Develop and/or support WMS reporting, dashboards, and operational KPIs using available BI/reporting tools (e.g., Cognos/Jasper or equivalent), ensuring outputs meet business and customer requirements.Partner with Operations, Customer Implementation, IT, and external stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify business objectives, and translate operational needs into WMS configuration and solution designs.Analyze warehouse processes (receiving, putaway, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, returns, cycle counting, inventory control) to ensure system configuration aligns with business needs; identify gaps, risks, and process improvement opportunities.Create clear functional documentation (process flows, business rules, requirements, and acceptance criteria) and maintain SOPs/work instructions for standard and customer-specific processes.Plan and execute functional testing, regression testing, and UAT support; validate configuration, integrations, reports, and end-to-end warehouse scenarios.Prepare and coordinate training sessions for operations users, super users, and IT support; develop training materials and demonstrate new processes and system functionality.Provide timely and accurate documentation for changes, issues, and resolutions; ensure all required documentation is forwarded to the appropriate persons and support knowledge transfer.Provide back up support for operational software systems and services upon unexpected employee absences, vacation, or business surges.Exercise extreme confidentiality and report any violations of KWEC electronic data processing policy to Human Resources and/or senior management.Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.Report all unsafe activities to management and/or Human Resources.Assist in various special projects/duties as assigned by senior management.What You Bring Formal academic training in Information Technology, Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Analysis, or a related field; plus 3+ years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Hands-on experience with a WMS in a distribution/3PL environment; Tecsys WMS (Elite/Mainline) and the iTopia Framework strongly preferred.Strong PostgreSQL/SQL proficiency for analysis and troubleshooting, including writing complex queries (multi-join), building validation scripts, and investigating data/transaction anomalies in a high-volume operational environment.Working knowledge of database concepts (tables/relationships, constraints, indexing basics) and data quality practices to support accurate reporting and reliable troubleshooting.Experience supporting integrations (API/EDI/flat files), including test planning, validation, and troubleshooting; ability to validate end-to-end transactions across integrated systems.Experience coordinating/supporting system upgrades, releases, and deployments; comfortable working within change control and release validation practices.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and business process documentation; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals/SOPs.Knowledge of basic web technologies used in configuration/customization contexts (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML) is an asset.Experience building or supporting WMS business rules, RF menu design, label/printing configuration, and operational BI reporting (e.g., Cognos, Jasper, or equivalent).Experience with project delivery practices (test plans, cutover planning, change control) and working with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.Experience with warehouse automation or related technologies (barcode formats/GS1, RF scanning, warehouse peripherals) is an asset.Why Join KWE?
